Last week, the Portuguese coastal town of Cascais hosted the European Aviation Training Symposium – EATS for short. Director Eric Duijkers attended the event on behalf of EPST, together with Jack Damen from our partner Compass.
In the Estoril Congress Centre, a stone’s throw away from Lisbon, guests from over 50 countries visited the symposium from 5 to 7 November. With more than 1000 guests, EATS is the largest event focusing on the training aspect in aviation. The symposium is intended as a platform to continuously improve the quality of training methods and facilities in aviation. EPST shares this goal, which is why we are associated with EATS 2024 as a sponsor.
New knowledge, old acquaintances
An event of such scale is a great opportunity for EPST to gain important knowledge within a few days’ time, and to speak to many involved people and organizations.
EATS organized several conferences this year, where experts in various training areas were able to share their latest insights. For example, updates on selection methods and new guidelines by EASA were discussed. The emerging role of AI was also a subject that was brought forward.
For Eric Duijkers in particular, the symposium was a great opportunity to catch up with partners from abroad. With our collaborations in Greece, Norway and Switzerland, it is not self-evident that you see each other in person. That is why these symposia are so valuable to us.
We look back on a successful edition and will definitely be there for the next edition.
