Discover the right training for your aviation career
The profession of a pilot is diverse, with various careers and training available. In this blog, we discuss the differences between training as an airline pilot and general pilot training at a flight school, helping you make the right choice for your future in aviation.
What is airline pilot training?
Training as an airline pilot at EPST is aimed at potential professional pilots who want to work in commercial aviation. This training prepares you for obtaining an Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL), the highest license required to operate as a commander on commercial flights.
Commercial aviation: A career with major airlines
- Targeted training: Focused on obtaining the ATPL, including thorough preparation for IFR flying (Instrument Flight Rules) and multi-crew cooperation.
- Duration and intensity: The training is a full-time study taking several years, depending on the chosen route (modular or integrated) it can last from 2 to 4 years. During this period, you will accumulate up to 1500 flight hours, which is essential to develop the required skills and experience to qualify as a commercial pilot.
Career opportunities: In this pathway, you can train for various positions as a captain or first officer at international airlines.
Training at a flight school
A flight school also offers various training pathways, not limited to commercial aviation. Whether you’re interested in becoming a private pilot, considering a career in sports aviation, or leaning towards the commercial side, we offer a suitable training.
- Various training: From PPL (Private Pilot License) to CPL (Commercial Pilot License).
- Flexibility in methods: Opportunities for both part-time and full-time study, with modular or integrated pathways. Read more about the different methods here.
