Large Wing ceremony after 3 years of absence

ESPT Winguitkering

Two ceremonies in a new venue

On January 13 and 20, EPST was finally able to issue wings again. The ceremony took place in 2 groups, because after 3 years of COVID restrictions, a staggering number of 73 graduates received their wings. For the first time, the President Carlton Hotel in Utrecht was host to the ceremony, where the hall at EPST used to serve as a stage. In the crowded reception hall, many former EPST students were able to catch up before being invited into the hall at 3 pm for the official graduation programme.

Presentation with ‘unflattering material’

After a welcome with a short speech by EPST director Eric Duijkers, the presentation could begin. One by one, the graduates received their EPST wing and diploma, accompanied by a Powerpoint with – according to Eric – ‘unflattering material’ from the flight training. Anecdotes and speeches about the different classes created a nice atmosphere, everyone could hear about what was going on at the various flight training locations.

Looking back on a successful moment

After the presentation, EPST’ers could have their photo taken by a photographer and there was still plenty of time to catch up with a drink at the bar. We absolutely enjoyed these afternoons ourselves and are happy with the positive reactions of the guests!

We are already looking forward to next year’s award ceremony and speeches, which will take place at the Carlton Hotel, just like this year.
